A good couple of inches of snow covered and obscured most of the heather on the moor. It was only this sprig of heather that could be seen poking out into the freezing cold air.
I am quite fond of photographing just snow. The undulations and the subtle shift in tones, caused by the reflection and translucency of the snow, give quite a pleasing effect. The bold shape of the heather and the subtle tones of the snow give an image of great contrast.
