With winter approaching, the evenings are drawing in. With every season comes new opportunities to try diﬀerent approaches and experiment. This image of St. Paul’s Cathedral across the Millennium Bridge is the outcome of increasing the camera sensitivity up to its maximum, then seeing what happened when using a relatively short exposure in the dark.
This is thirty seconds of time compressed into a single instant. The image shows the movement and the ﬂow as people stroll across the bridge in the early night, pausing to talk, take in the view or simply stride across the Thames.
