Carnation
This was taken as part of a time-lapse project to look at the vascular structure of this beautiful flower. Dredging up childhood memories of putting flowers in food colouring to change their colour, I put this carnation in a dark ink to show the uptake of water to the petals.
Unfortunately, the project didn't turn out as well as I'd envisioned — but this abstract image of the undyed flower was its saving grace.
