This lone Silver Gull (Chroicocephalus novaehollandiae) was perched on a wire in Melbourne Zoo, gently wobbling from back to front as a light gust of wind blew past. Whilst everyone was watching the seals diving around the pool, the gull was watching to what edibles people dropped.
The deep orange of its eyes, beak and legs was a wonderful contrast to the bright blue sky, with the wire a perfect opportunity to cut the image diagonally. A very simple image of a seagull.
