Bare

Bare

The bleakness of the snow-covered landscape is perhaps further emphasised by the sight of the bare tree, standing out from the white with all of its intricate structure plain for all to see. This is another photo where I was fascinated by the subtle tones that can appear on the snow, caused either by the surroundings or by the undulations in the snow itself.

The sturdy tree trunk divides further and further, until the branches are no more than fragile twigs, almost blending in with the grey sky behind it. I cannot help but look at the shape of the tree and compare it to how the circulatory system looks, with blood vessels dividing again and again.
